Technical information from your visit
When you visit, our hosting and security providers may process technical information such as your IP address, requested pages, browser information, request times, and error or security records. We use that information to deliver and protect the site. Our selected providers are Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc.), and the applicable log-retention periods are 72 hours. We do not describe technical logs as anonymous unless that is actually established by the provider's configuration.
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. We use that information to respond, examine corrections, handle rights questions, or address your request. Our email provider is Gmail (Google LLC). Correspondence is retained for the lifetime of the mailbox, subject to legitimate recordkeeping needs and applicable requirements. Do not include unnecessary sensitive information.
Features this site does not run
The initial site does not offer reader accounts, public comments, a newsletter, or an on-site contact form. We do not use optional audience-analytics software in the initial configuration. If those features are added, we will describe their providers, data, purposes, choices, and retention here before they begin operating. Browser and hosting logs described above may still be processed even without audience analytics.
Advertising
Advertising is not enabled on this site at present. No advertising script is loaded, no ad request is made, and no advertising cookie is set by us. If advertising is enabled later, Google and other participating advertising vendors may use cookies or similar technologies based on your visits to this site and other websites, to support ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention and, where permitted, personalization. This section and our consent interface will be updated to name the configured vendors and purposes before that happens.

Your choices
No consent platform is deployed yet, because no optional storage is in use. When advertising is enabled, a certified consent platform will be installed and a persistent Privacy choices control will appear in the footer. You can also manage cookies through your browser. Withdrawing a choice affects future processing according to the deployed platform; it does not automatically reverse processing that already occurred lawfully. The consequences of rejecting optional storage are explained in the consent interface. Essential delivery and security processing may continue where permitted.
Sharing and international transfers
We share information with providers that deliver the services described here, and may disclose information where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legitimate rights. Providers may process data in countries different from your own. The transfer arrangements and safeguards relevant to our chosen providers are as follows: email is processed by Google LLC (United States), which relies on Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for international transfers; Cloudflare, Inc. processes web requests under the same safeguards. We do not promise that all information remains in a particular country unless that has been verified.
Your rights
Depending on your location and the applicable rules, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, obtain a copy of, or restrict certain uses of your information, object to processing, or withdraw consent. Relevant rights and appeal or complaint routes are as follows. Mexico: you may exercise your ARCO rights (access, rectification, cancellation, opposition) by writing to [email protected]; complaints may be filed with INAI (Instituto Nacional de Transparencia, Acceso a la Información y Protección de Datos Personales). EU/EEA: you may exercise rights under the GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection) by writing to the same address; you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. United States — California: you may exercise rights under the CCPA/CPRA (know, delete, correct, opt-out of sale/sharing) at the same address. Contact our privacy address to submit a request. We may need proportionate verification before disclosing or changing personal information.
Children
Car Secrets is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children through reader accounts or submission features. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact our privacy address so we can review it. We update this policy when our practices change and display the effective date above.
